Rock Hill, S.C. —- Catawba College seniors Morgan Childress and Christina Knotts were named to the All-South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Beach Volleyball Second Team, the league offices announced Thursday afternoon.
The duo finished the regular season with a 15-5 overall record and a 7-2 mark in the inaugural season of league play.
Childress and Knotts set records this season for the most career matches played and career wins, while also setting the single-season record for wins over NCAA competition.
Catawba's #2 pair went 3-0 in the opening SACC weekend, in which the team went 3-1 as a team, and followed up with a win over Wingate and a 3-1 weekend in the final weekend over conference opponents.
Childress and Knotts compete in the very first SACC Tournament this weekend, facing top-seed Carson-Newman at 12:30 and fourth-seed Erskine at 4 p.m. in pool play.
