NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Catawba College women's lacrosse team was named an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad for the 2024-25 academic year on Wednesday, marking four consecutive seasons being recognized. Six members of the program were also awarded with spots on the organization's Academic Honor Roll.
Joey Baillie, Paige Kirkpatrick, Michaela Lantz and Madison Shaffer appeared on the Honor Roll for the second year in a row to cap their college careers. Juniors Audrey Adelsberger and Mary Sorvillo rounded out the Catawba Indian contingent as first-time honorees. To qualify for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Catawba is one of 73 Division II teams and eight South Atlantic Conference representatives who landed the honor. The IWLCA awarded 383 schools across all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA in 2024-25. To reach Academic Honor Squad status, programs must tally a 3.2 or higher team GPA during the full academic year.

The IWLCA is a membership-led, professional association representing the nation's intercollegiate women's lacrosse coaches within Division I, II & III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Currently, there are over 500 institutional members and over 1,200 coaches and staff at NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, and NAIA collegiate programs.
