PETERSBURG, Va. — The Catawba College men's golf team fired a seven-under-par 569 through Monday's opening two rounds at the Griffin Invitational, good for second place in a strong field of regional contenders.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Antoniadis rose seven spots from round one to two, launching a four-under 68 that included an eagle to position himself for a runner-up finish
- Esnault had the field's fifth-best opening round at two-under and duplicated it to stay within the top-five list
- Making his debut as a Catawba Indian, Barker collected a first-round 71 to slot ninth before wrapping up the day with an even-par round two
- In his first collegiate tournament, Bonnet leapt 23 positions by shooting one-under in the second 18 to land in 24th at day's end
- Kapur improved by three shots in the second round for a day-one card of 76-73
NOTES
- The team's against-par score through 36 holes is the program's second-best-ever, trailing only the nine-under recorded at last season's Richard Rendleman Invitational
- Antoniadis tied his lowest against-par score through 36 from last season, giving him two top-10 marks in program history
- Palm Beach Atlantic currently sits atop the team leaderboard, while Eckerd's Reggie Fear leads the individual standings by just a stroke
