Victor Smith was named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning.
Smith was victorious in the indoor 60-meter dash at the Mondo College Invitational at the JDL Fast Track on Saturday with a 6.63-second time.
The mark broke
Miles Stephens and Win Porter's school record to set the top mark in the country in the event.
The former All-American is well on his way to return to the National Championships in Virginia Beach in March, clearing the provisional time of 6.82 seconds.
Catawba returns to JDL on Sunday, competing in the ASICS Superblast Invitational.
