ROCK HILL, S.C. — Jordan Simpson's scoring outburst in the Catawba College men's basketball team's victory over Carson-Newman on Saturday earned him South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Player of the Week honors per league release Monday.

The senior guard splashed six three-pointers in a 26-point performance while adding eight rebounds — all three marking season highs — with two steals and an assist. It was Simpson's fifth time in double figures this season and his second consecutive game with at least 20 points, following up his 20-ball on Dec. 20 to help defeat Emory & Henry.

Simpson is Catawba's first weekly award recipient since Kris Robinson on Nov. 27, 2023, snapping a 35-week streak without representation.
