LORETTO, Pa. — The Catawba College men's volleyball team dropped the first of its two weekend matches at Saint Francis on Friday night, enduring a 3-0 loss to the Red Flash at DeGol Arena.
TEAM STATS
- Catawba (5-5) was sound in the hitting department for the first two sets, but slumped in the third stanza for a .123 final clip; Saint Francis (5-5) had a similar pattern in success, but experienced more of it while finishing at .329
- The Red Flash made a living in serve receive, turning 49% of their first-ball attacks into kills while its defense held Catawba to a 34% mark
- Although the blue and white trailed in aces by a 7-3 margin, the Red Flash floundered in service with 16 errors and a .784 success rate against the Catawba Indians' nine errors and .852
- The Catawba Indians posted 25 digs, superior to SFU's 21, and held a minor advantage in blocks at 7-5
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Justin Arrowood was the lone Catawba Indian in double digits kill-wise, amassing 11 blasts on a .389 hitting percentage
- Kekona Ulu chipped in seven kills and was one of three players with a service ace
- Mason Archer handed out 21 assists at the setter position in addition to three digs and a block
- Logan Neitzel smashed five kills with a team-high four blocks, followed by Cam Reeder who racked up three stops in the third set alone
- Wyatt Eastin protected the net with two solo blocks as he and Anders Christianson rounded out the attack with three kills apiece
- Max Adkisson had seven digs and three assists while going flawless in seven receptions at libero
