Indianapolis, Ind. — The 9th-ranked Catawba College women's tennis earned their second win over a top-three ranked team in program history on Saturday when they knocked off third-ranked North Georgia in an epic battle at the ITA Indoor Nationals in Indianapolis.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Rin Igarashi and Sofia Antolini earned a 6-2 win at #2 doubles
- Lili Drukerova and Ami Miya clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 win at #1 doubles
- Hanna Bougouffa and Tina Gomes were tied 6-6 when their #3s match was abandoned
SINGLES
- North Georgia picked up a win at #1 singles
- Bougouffa earned a quick 6-2, 6-0 win at #2 singles
- The Nighthawks earned a win at #3 singles
- Drukerova notched a 6-3, 6-2 at #4 singles
- UNG won its #5 singles match to bring the match down to #6s
- Igarashi won 6-2, 6-1 to clinch the match
