OKATIE, S.C. — The ninth-ranked Catawba College men's golf team stands in a tie for third place midway through the second round of the Oldfield Classic, heading into the final day of competition in the USC Beaufort-hosted tournament just three shots off the leader.
Following a delayed start due to weather in the Hilton Head area, Round 2 competition at Oldfield Club was suspended with Catawba players finishing 30-31 holes. The Catawba Indians rallied back from posting the seventh-best team round with a promising, even-par start to the second round that leads the field. Georgia Southwestern tops the team leaderboard with Wingate a shot behind, followed by Anderson and Catawba knotted in third place.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Antoniadis birdied four times in the first round to make par in the opening 18 holes, then began the second round at one-over-par to retain a top-five slot
- Esnault's opening-round 76 was beginning to fade thanks to a strong start to the next go-round; the junior has gone five-under in his last five holes using three birdies and an eagle on No. 12
- A few bogeys to end Kapur's first round were counteracted two birdies in a second round that currently sits at par, placing the sophomore in 26th – within striking distance (three shots) of the Top 10
- Lockwood was also aiming for a second-round par at day's end after flipping two first-round bogeys into birdies
- Barker's second round is currently six strokes better than his opener, developing a two-over trend that he hopes will continue
- Playing as an individual, Masterton improved his front nine by six shots with a three-over score through 12 holes on Monday
