Men's Volleyball edged out by Benedict

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Catawba College men's volleyball team suffered a come-from-behind defeat on the road against Benedict, 3-2, on Thursday night at HRC Arena.

TEAM STATS
- The Catawba Indians (5-8) recorded their third-lowest hitting percentage of the year, weighed down by 30 attack errors, while Benedict (2-2) hit .171 with a season-high 47 darts
- The blue and white led the ace count 6-4, but matched the Tigers in off-target deliveries at 20
- Benedict was superior in blocking by a 9-7 margin, although the 6-4 difference in block errors tipping toward the Tigers essentially evened the count
- Catawba trailed 43-38 in digs as BC boasted two players in double figures, while the visitors spread theirs across nine different players with none having more than eight

INDIVIDUAL STATS
- John Clinton tallied a career-high 13 kills on a .211 success rate, adding six digs and a service ace
- Wyatt Eastin shattered the program's solo blocks record with four stops, doubling the previous mark, with eight kills on a team-best .316 clip, two aces and three digs
- Anders Christianson recorded exactly 10 kills for the third consecutive contest, chipping in five digs and a pair of aces
- Justin Arrowood poured in eight blasts and one ace while leading the squad in digs with eight
- Mason Archer resumed his heavy workload at the setter position with 36 assists and four digs including a 2-for-3 night in attack
- In his third career match and his first as a libero, Miles Ginesi hit the floor for seven digs and dished out a couple of assists
