Sofia Antolini was named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Antolini went a combined 3-0 between doubles and singles in a 2-0 week for the 10th-ranked Catawba Indians with nationally ranked wins over UIndy and UT Tyler in the Spring Break Collegiate Showcase in Chattanooga.
The Italy native earned a 6-0 win in the second-ranked doubles matchup with partner
Rin Igarashi before a 6-1, 6-3 win over the top-ranked singles opponent from the Greyhounds for a 4-0 win over 26th-ranked UIndy.
Then on Wednesday, Antolini and Igarashi earned a 6-3 win over the #2 doubles team for the Patriots on the way to a 4-1 win over 13th-ranked UT Tyler.
Catawba returns to South Atlantic Conference play this week, traveling to UVA Wise and Lincoln Memorial on Friday and Saturday.
