Salisbury, N.C. — The 7th-ranked Catawba College women's tennis team improved to a perfect 5-0 in South Atlantic Conference play with a 4-0 win over Newberry on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

DOUBLES

- Tina Gomes and Agata Budnik earned a quick 6-1 win at #3 doubles

- Ami Miya and Lili Drukerova helped clinch the doubles point with a 6-2 win at the top-ranked doubles position

SINGLES

- Hanna Bougouffa earned a quick 6-1, 6-1 win at #2 singles

- Sofia Antolini wrapped up her top-ranked singles match right around the same time with a 6-2, 6-3 win

- Ami Miya clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win in the #3 singles match

- Drukerova and Rin Igarashi neared victories in their singles matches at #4s and #6s matches, respectively

- Katya Kldiashvili won in a tiebreak in the first set of her #5s match
