Salisbury, N.C. — The ninth-ranked Catawba College men's tennis team cruised to a 4-0 win over Newberry in its return to the Johnson Tennis Center in South Atlantic Conference action on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

DOUBLES

- Santiago Passoni and Alen Bill picked up a quick 6-0 win at #2 doubles

- Agustin Mastri and Luca Bergonzi clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win at the top-ranked doubles match

- Alessandro Valletta and Mateo Berne led 5-2 at the #3 doubles match

SINGLES

- Bergonzi added his second win of the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-0 win at #4 singles

- Berne followed right after with a 6-3, 6-0 win at #3 singles

- Mastri clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-1 win at the top-ranked singles match

- Passoni, Ryosuke Inagawa and Bill won the first set before their matches were abandoned at the clinch point
