Hartsville, S.C. — The 4th-ranked Catawba College baseball team drew a season-high 16 walks in a 22-7 win on the road over Coker University in the series opener on Friday night.
TEAM STATISTICS

INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
- Jake Dunlap was 4-for-5 with a walk, five RBI and two runs scored
- Logan Dyer added two singles and a walk with five RBI and three runs scored
- Brandon Crabtree was 2-for-2 with a homer, four walks, two RBI and two runs scored
- Sam Hunter doubled in two at-bats and scored three times
- Colt Wilkins earned the win, allowing three earned runs in four innings; Braeden Major picked up the save with three full frames, allowing one run
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST INNING
- A walk and Hunter's double put Catawba with two runners in scoring position in the top of the first
- Hunter Atkins' RBI sac fly started the scoring
- Matthew Connolly ripped a double down the left field line to score the second run
- Dunlap's opposite-field single scored Catabwa's third run of the opening frame
SECOND INNING
- Nathan Chrismon walked and reached third on a failed pickoff attempt in the second
- Malachi Cloud drove him in on an RBI fielder's choice
- Hunter's single loaded the bases before Atkins drew a bases-loaded walk to lead 5-0
- Two walks and an error loaded the bases for Coker in the bottom half
- The Cobras got on the board with a two-RBI single
- The error proved costly as Coker struck for a three-run homer with two outs to tie the game at 5
FOURTH INNING
- Four consecutive walks and a hit-by-pitch scored two runs for Catawba in the fourth
- Dunlap deposited a two-run single to right field to make it 9-5
- Hubbard's sac fly made it 10-5 before a two-run single from Dyer and another RBI base hit from Crabtree had Catawba ahead 13-5
- A double and a single from the Cobras made it 13-6 after four
FIFTH INNING
- Peter Adams' double brought Coker within six runs in the fifth
SIXTH INNING
- After Cloud singled, he stole second and advanced to third on an error; Dyer's sac fly brought him home
- Crabtree tagged his fifth homer of the season to right field to make it 15-7
SEVENTH INNING
- A leadoff single and two walks loaded the bases with nobody out for Catawba in the seventh
- Hubbard drew a bases-loaded walk before Dyer brought home two more on a single
- Hunter's walk and Atkins' single brought home two more runs for Catawba, up 20-7
- Dunlap's single scored two more to add Catawba's 21st and 22nd runs of the night
