Stout’s seven-goal day powers #12 Men’s Lacrosse past Coker, 18-9

HARTSVILLE, S.C. — The 12th-ranked Catawba College men's lacrosse delivered a solid all-around performance to pick up a South Atlantic Conference road win over Coker, 18-9, on Wednesday.

TEAM STATS
- Catawba (8-2, 3-2 SAC) recorded 40 shots with a season-high shot percentage of .450 while Coker (6-6, 2-5 SAC) was the opposite, leading the shot count with 46 on an inefficient .196 success rate
- The blue and white lost the turnover battle by their largest margin of 2026, committing 19 against the Cobras' 13
- On clears, Catawba continued to excel with a 20-for-21 (.952) day compared to an 11-for-16 (.688) offering by the hosts
- Coker boasted a sizable advantage in ground ball pickups, outnumbering the Catawba Indians 37-22
- The Cobras led in faceoffs 17-14, led by Brandon Calidonio's 16 wins while Cael Petroff turned in 13 triumphs for Catawba
- Ben LoPiccolo locked up the net with 14 saves on 23 shots faced (.609), rivaling Coker's eight total stops split between losing goalie Carter Wiltse and reliever Jack Schellenburg

INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Two days after collecting his first SAC weekly award, Tanner Stout paced the offensive attack with seven goals to set a new career high and tie the fifth-best mark in program history
- Peyton Turner also racked up seven points, diversifying his output with three goals and four assists; he moves into fifth all-time in career assists (67)
- Micah Stechmiller notched two goals and two assists for four points while Andrew Crumpacker's three (one goal, two helpers) and Michael Lindsey's two (both goals) rounded out the Catawba Indians with multiple points
- Freshman Griffin Davis had one of the best games of his rookie season, netting his first career goal with a caused turnover and a ground ball
- Off the X, Petroff grabbed eight ground balls and scored a goal, finding paydirt in back-to-back games
- Owen Conway, the defending SAC Defensive Player of the Week, backed up the title with five caused turnovers and five ground ball pickups
