#12 Men's Lacrosse unloads scoring attack on Emory & Henry, 28-8

MEADOWVIEW, Va. — The No. 12-ranked Catawba College men's lacrosse team came one goal short of its program record in an offensive eruption at Emory & Henry, 28-8, on Saturday afternoon at the Food City Sports Complex.

TEAM STATS
- The Catawba Indians (10-2, 5-2 SAC) commanded a potent 64-25 advantage in shooting, including a significant margin in on-target attempts at 46-14
- Catawba turned the ball over 10 times while Emory & Henry (1-11, 0-7) nearly doubled that with 18 miscues
- The blue and white enjoyed a 20-for-22 (.909) day in clearing, rivaling the 16-for-21 (.762) ledger by the Wasps
- At 46-24 in ground balls favoring Catawba, the 22-pickup margin is the squad's largest of the season
- Catawba went 26-14 on the faceoff X, led by Mason Adams and Cael Petroff with 13 and 10 wins, respectively; David Mewes and Caleb Mims combined to give the Wasps 12 triumphs
- Broden Clemens-Ellison earned his first career start in goal and nabbed the win as Brady Gauntner, Hunter Mestey and Tyler Ahlvers also saw time between the posts

INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Micah Stechmiller racked up 11 points on five goals and six assists, tying the second-best performance in program history
- Tanner Stout buried a team-high six goals and added three helpers, while fellow former SAC Offensive Player of the Week Peyton Turner dished out five assists and netted two goals
- Michael Lindsey hat-tricked with three goals and one assist ahead of four players with two goals, including Statton Rehrer and Zander Adkins who tallied three points with one assist each
- Eric Fruge notched a team-high two caused turnovers while five Catawba Indians each recorded one takeaway
- Adams and Petroff snagged seven ground balls apiece with Dylan McQuarrie leading the field players with five – including a caused turnover

Catawba plays its final regular-season home game on Saturday, Apr. 18, against Mars Hill for Senior Day. Opening faceoff is slated for 3 p.m. at Shuford Stadium.
