Greeneville, Tenn. —- The 9th-ranked Catawba College men's tennis team captured its second consecutive outright South Atlantic Conference regular season title with a 4-0 win at Tusculum on Saturday, completing the Catawba Indians' perfect run through the SAC regular season schedule.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Alessandro Valletta and Mateo Berne earned a 6-2 win at #3 doubles
- Alen Bill and Santiago Passoni clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 (7-1) tiebreak win at the second-ranked match
- Agustin Mastri and Luca Bergonzi led 6-5 at the top-ranked doubles match at the clinch point
SINGLES
- Mastri added another top-ranked singles win with a 6-2, 6-1 victory
- Berne picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at 3rd-ranked singles
- Bergonzi helped clinch the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win at #4 singles
- Valletta led 7-6, 3-1 at the clinch point at #6 singles
- Ryosuke Inagawa won his opening set at #5 singles
