Men's Volleyball nipped by Lincoln Memorial in IVA Tournament title match

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. — The Catawba College men's volleyball team's sophomore season came to an end on Saturday with a 3-1 loss to Lincoln Memorial in the Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (IVA) Tournament championship match at Barry University's Health & Sports Center.

TEAM STATS
- The Catawba Indians (13-14) registered a .168 hitting percentage to rival Lincoln Memorial's (17-6) superior clip of .324, leading to the Railsplitters' 53-49 edge in kills
- Catawba dominated in service with an 8-3 advantage in aces while the squads erred on 10 serves apiece
- LMU won the blocking battle with 11.5 stops as the blue and white logged nine
- The Railsplitters took the digs category as well, but Catawba kept it close with a 34-30 difference

INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Justin Arrowood tied Catawba's four-set kills record with 23 strikes while landing a program-record seven aces, good for a top-10 mark nationwide, and posting a team-high eight digs
- John Clinton found paydirt seven times with three blocks and six digs, followed by Anders Christianson offensively who also tallied six kills as well as two denials and five digs
- Middles Logan Neitzel and Wyatt Eastin tacked on five kills apiece with four and two blocks, respectively
- Jacob Brown added two kills on three swings with two blocks – one solo and one assisted
- Kristian Smith turned in 43 assists with three blocks, six digs and one kill
- From the libero position, Max Adkisson supplied three digs and three assists

NOTES
- Catawba's 13 wins ties its total in the inaugural season
- The Catawba Indians set new season records in nearly every category with notable improvements in aces, digs and blocks
- The program's all-time record through two seasons sits at an even 26-26
- All 20 student-athletes are eligible to return in 2027
