Salisbury, N.C. —- The 6th-ranked and top-seeded Catawba College baseball team scored seven runs in the fourth inning to roll to a win over 8th-seed Coker in the South Atlantic Conference Baseball Tournament opener at Newman Park on Friday afternoon.

INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
- Logan Dyer was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored
- Hunter Atkins homered in two hits, driving in three runs
- Jake Dunlap added three hits, including a double, with three runs scored
- Malachi Cloud picked up three hits with two runs scored
- Colt Wilkins earned the win, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks with six strikeouts in six innings pitched
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST INNING
- Dyer and Brandon Crabtree led off the first inning with infield singles
- A sac bunt moved the runners up, allowing Dyer to score on Atkins' RBI groundout
- Dunlap's two-out single drove in another run, leading 2-0
THIRD INNING
- Atkins' solo homer to left field in the third pushed Catawba's lead to 3-0
FOURTH INNING
- Ty Hubbard and Nathan Chrismon led off the fourth with base hits
- Matthew Connolly's RBI single through the right side scored Catawba's fourth run
- Dyer drove a ball to right-center to score another run
- Crabtree and Atkins drew bases-loaded walks to make it 7-0
- Dunlap's two-run double to center field made it a 9-0 Catawba lead
- Hubbard's second productive at-bat of the inning drove in a run on a sac fly
FIFTH INNING
- Cloud singled through the left side, stole second and advanced to third on an error on the steal
- Dyer's third hit of the game pushed Catawba's lead to 11
SIXTH INNING
- Rocco Wojcik's two-out, two-run double got Coker on the board in the sixth
EIGHTH INNING
- Wojcik scored another run on a two-out RBI single
