Salisbury, N.C. —- The 7th-ranked and top-seeded Catawba College women's tennis team booked their ticket to the NCAA Division II Women's Tennis National Championships with a 4-2 win over 15th-ranked and 4th-seeded North Georgia at the Johnson Tennis Center on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DOUBLES
- Agata Budnik and Tina Gomes rolled to a 6-1 win at #3 doubles
- Sofia Antolini and Rin Igarashi clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win at second-ranked doubles
- Ami Miya and Lili Drukerova led 4-3 at the clinch point
SINGLES
- Miya picked up the first singles victory with a 6-1, 6-1 win at third-ranked singles
- Igarashi added to Catawba's lead with a 6-0, 6-3 win at #6 singles
- Drukerova clinched the match with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 victory where she came back from 0-40 in the final game to send Catawba to their first-ever nationals
