ROCK HILL, S.C. — Catawba College's Mandi Pollard and Seth Caudill have been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Women's and Men's Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Monday.
Pollard earned the women's honor following her performance at the ChicknLegs XC Throwdown on Sept. 26 at Salisbury Community Park. She won the 5-kilometer race with a time of 18 minutes, 18.83 seconds, leading a dominant Catawba performance.
The Indians scored a perfect 15 points to win the team competition, placing their top six runners in the first six spots. Hannah Caudill finished second, followed by Eden Barnwell, Justine Sanchez, Morgan Pollard and Eva Montanye.
Caudill claimed the men's honor after winning the 8K at the ChicknLegs XC Throwdown with a time of 25:47.4. The senior led a Catawba sweep of the top nine individual spots as the Indians also posted a perfect team score of 15 points.
The honor marks Caudill's second SAC Runner of the Week selection of the 2026 season. He previously earned the award following his sixth-place finish at the Elon XC Opener, where he ran 19:20.6 in the 6K.
Both Catawba squads return to action in Charlotte, N.C. at the Royals Cross Country Challenge Oct. 9.
