Jordan Softcheck enters his third season as Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Catawba College in the fall of 2025.

During the 2024 season, Softcheck oversaw an offense that led the South Atlantic Conference in first downs per game and time of possession, while ranking in the top 25 nationally in 4th down conversion percentage (3rd), tackles for loss allowed (6th), rushing offense (20th), 3rd down conversion percentage (21st), time of possession (24th) and total offense (25th) despite suffering multiple injuries at impact positions. Softcheck's offense saw LJ Turner burst onto the scene from a third-string back in the preseason to the most rushing yards in a single season in Catawba history with 1,224 yards rushing across eight games with 13 touchdowns, earning him AFCA Second Team All-America honors, the first running back in program history to earn such honors. Softcheck helped lead Catawba to three wins on the season, each with a different starting quarterback under center. Additionally, Kobe Christian was the leading receiver among tight ends in the SAC for the second straight season.

The 2024 season was just the third in Catawba Football history with more than 2,100 yards rushing and passing as a team. It was the seventh-most total yards per game in school history and the most since 2018. The teams also ranked as a top-12 scoring offense in team history and a top-15 rushing team in program history, with the most since the 2016 season.

In his first season, Softcheck oversaw a revamped offense that averaged nearly six points more per game than in 2022. Under Softcheck's direction, Preston Brown earned All-Piedmont Division honors while also becoming the first Catawba quarterback in program history to throw for six touchdowns in a game. The offense also featured All-Conference wideout Bo Pryor, who tied the single-season record for catches in a season along with All-Division performers in running back Marquece Williams and offensive lineman Cameron Ivy-Young.

Softcheck comes to Salisbury following five seasons as Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. While at Saint Anselm, Softcheck was named a finalist for the American Football Coaches Association's Assistant Coach of the Year in 2021. Softcheck guided a Hawks' passing attacked that ranked ninth in Division II with 314.7 passing yards per game. Saint Anselm ranked second in the Northeast-10 Conference with 380.9 total yards per game.

With Softcheck leading the offense, the Hawks ranked number one in the conference in back-to-back seasons in passing yards, while ranking in the top 25 of Division II three times. Saint Anselm set 15 individual game and season offensive records, including the best passing offense in program history. With the Hawks, Softcheck coached NE-10 Rookie of the Year Drew Willoughby, two-time All-NE10 wide receiver Anthony Brown and all-conference selection Carson Goda.

Prior to his time at Saint Anselm, Softcheck spent two years at Brown University, serving as recruiting coordinator and wide receiver coach. With the Bears, Softcheck coached two-time all-conference selection Jakob Prall, who now plays for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League, along with four-time All-Ivy League First Teamer Alex Jette. Softcheck came to the northeast from the University of Dayton, where he coached wide receivers and served as the passing game coordinator from 2012-15. The Flyers won the conference and made an appearance in the NCAA Playoffs in 2015. At UD, Softcheck coached Ross Smith, who ranks third all-time in Dayton's program history in career receptions.

Softcheck makes his return to the South Atlantic Conference, as he was a three-year letterwinner at Wingate University, being named team captain as a senior. While with the Bulldogs, Softcheck was a part of the class that set the program record for single-season and career wins. After his graduation in 2009, he served as a wide receivers coach at WU, earning a Masters of Arts in Education (Sport Administration) in 2011.

He comes to Catawba along with his wife, Jessica, and their three children Bradley, Jax and Jett.
