    Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Ron Robinson joined the Catawba College women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach ahead of the 2025-26 season, bringing over a decade of experience at the NJCAA level and a reputation for relentless, high-pressure defense.

Before arriving in Salisbury, Robinson served two seasons at Pensacola State College, where he helped the Pirates rediscover their winning identity. As the Lady Pirates’ defensive coordinator and primary signal caller he helped guide the Pirates to their first 20-win season and FSCAA Tournament appearance in over a decade. During the 2023–2024 campaign, Pensacola State was ranked as high as No. 7 nationally and remained in the NJCAA Top 25 throughout the season. In his final season at Pensacola State, Robinson helped the Pirates finish fourth in the nation in forced turnovers per game (25.8) and 10th nationally in steals per game (14.0), while ranking No. 1 in both categories within Region 8 and the Panhandle Conference.

Prior to Pensacola State, Robinson spent nine successful seasons as head coach at Chattahoochee Valley Community College, where he amassed 174 career wins and established one of the most effective defensive programs in JUCO basketball. Under his leadership, CVCC earned seven ACCC South Division titles, made four NJCAA Region 22 Championship appearances, and produced 25 All-Conference and 16 All-Region players. Robinson’s tenure included five ACCC South Division Coach of the Year honors and an ACCC South regular-season title in his final season.

A native of Mobile, Ala., Robinson played collegiately at Columbus State University under late Hall of Fame coach Herbert Greene. He was a two-time All-Peach Belt Conference and South Atlantic District All-Region performer, previously earning NJCAA All-American honors at Faulkner State Community College. Before entering the college ranks, Robinson led his Vigor High School squad to a school best 33-4 record and Final Four appearance in 2003. That year, he was named to the AHSAA All-State Team after being honored as the Mobile Optimist 6A Player of the Year as a junior.

Robinson holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbus State University.
