AIKEN, S.C. -- Sydney Jimmo continued her scoring barrage, netting three goals as Catawba downed host USC Aiken 6-0 in women's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon at Pacer Pit. The Catawba Indians move to 5-0-1 on the year, while the Pacers fall to 2-3.
The score was just 1-0 at the half with Hannah Dunn getting the goal for Catawba in the 33rd minute. Less than a minute into the second half, Jimmo doubled the margin as she knocked home a penalty kick.
The Lady Indians began to stretch its advantage as Maddie Capel headed home a Kasey Hahn corner kick in the 53rd minute. Katie Beck converted another penalty kick for Catawba in the 65th minute.
Jimmo capped off her night with goals in the 76th and 79th minutes. The goals give Jimmo, the South Atlantic Conference and United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week, eight goals in her last three matches.
Catawba out-shot USC Aiken 19-2 and drew 14 corner kicks to none for the Pacers.
Catawba returns to league action on Saturday, traveling to Carson-Newman for 7:30 p.m. match.
