PREVIEW: Women's Soccer opens NCAA Tournament play Thursday vs. UNCP

Salisbury, N.C. —- The second-seeded Catawba College women's soccer team opens NCAA Tournament action at Frock Field on Thursday evening, hosting seventh-seed UNC Pembroke at 6 p.m.

- Catawba leads 6-3-0; Catawba Indians have won last three meetings

ON CATAWBA

- Catawba enters the NCAA Tournament following a tie in the SAC title match, in which they fell in the penalty-kick shootout versus top-seed Lenoir-Rhyne

- Hannah Dunn scored twice; she has scored seven goals in her last seven games

- Sydney Jimmo scored a league-high 17 goals this year

- Catawba leads the conference and region with 64 goals this season, averaging 3.2 goals per game

- Mercy Bell, the CC Offensive Player of the Year, is tied for the national lead in goals with 19

- The Braves traveled to Salisbury for the NCAA Tournament last season, falling to Flagler in the First Round

- Pembroke has appeared in five of the last six NCAA Tournaments; the Braves are 2-6 all-time in the Tournament, last win was in 2010
