Wingate, N.C. —- The third-ranked Catawba College women's soccer team earned a key road win in the South Atlantic Conference Wednesday night, holding on for a 2-1 win at Wingate.

- Catawba out-shot Wingate 12-10
- The Catawba Indians held a slight advantage in shots on goal 7-6
- Catawba also edged out the Bulldogs in corner kicks 8-7
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
- Sydney Jimmo scored the game-winner along with a game-high five shots on goal
- Maria Rayburn netted Catawba's first goal of the night
- McKenzee Johnson picked up an assist on the Jimmo score
- Ashley Hughes made five saves in goal
HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
- The teams traded shots on goal in the first 22 minutes, as each keeper made the save
- Rayburn broke through for a score in the 23rd minute
- The sides traded one more shot on goal apiece which were both saved
- Johnson found Jimmo for the eventual winner in the 33rd minute
SECOND HALF
- Katherine Eniasco cut the Bulldog deficit in half with a score in the 53rd minute
- Jimmo added another shot on goal in the 59th minute, while Wingate responded with one in the 60th
- Both keepers made two more saves the rest of the way as Catawba held on for the key road win
