Greenville, Tenn. —- The Catawba College baseball team had the tying run in scoring position in the top of the ninth inning, but could not score it, falling 6-4 in the rubber match of the series at Tusculum on Monday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference baseball action.

FIRST INNING
- Hunter hit a two-out triple in the first
- Rusher scored him on an RBI double to right field
- Tusculum answered with Ben Scartz's RBI single with no outs
- The Pioneers took a 2-1 lead on an RBI groundout
FIFTH INNING
- Perrell's two-RBI single with one away swung the advantage to Catawba's favor in the fifth
SIXTH INNING
- Scartz's RBI single in the bottom of the sixth tied the game
SEVENTH INNING
- Perrell ripped a go-ahead, two-out double to re-take the lead
- Tusculum re-gained the lead with two runs on a throwing error
EIGHTH INNING
- The Pioneers added an insurance score on a bases-loaded walk
NINTH INNING
- Catawba got the tying run aboard, but TU stranded it with a strikeout
