Rock Hill, S.C. —- The Catawba College Men's and Women's Swimming teams were both picked second in the South Atlantic Conference Swimming polls, the league office announced Monday morning. The Catawba Indians both earned two first-place votes.
Wingate was the league favorite in both polls, receiving three first-place votes each. Catawba was one point and one first-place vote behind in both polls. Carson-Newman, Lenoir-Rhyne and Mars Hill rounded out the polls in both genders.
The league also announced league Swimmers to Watch. On the men's side,
Sammer Campos,
Lincoln Council and
Jules Remy were picked Men's Swimmers to Watch, while
Makayla Bazeley,
Maggie Cheves and
Eszter Pajor were tabbed Women's Swimmers to Watch.
Catawba defeated Division I Gardner-Webb in the season opener and are back in action this week, when they travel to Queens University of Charlotte for a dual meet on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m.
