JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The Catawba College women's volleyball team went up 2-1 to put Carson-Newman on upset watch, but failed to close out the contest in a five-set defeat at Holt Fieldhouse on Friday night.
TEAM STATS
- Catawba (8-9, 5-7 SAC) registered its second-best hitting percentage in a loss with a .182 clip compared to the Eagles' (17-3, 8-3 SAC) .246 mark
- It was an all-or-nothing night for Carson-Newman at the service line, stacking up 11 aces with just as many errors; Catawba landed four aces and missed the mark on five deliveries
- Each team totaled nine blocks, which goes down as the second-highest tally in a match this season for the Catawba Indians
- The blue and white logged 72 digs against the 88 scoops recorded Carson-Newman, the most by a Catawba opponent in 2025
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Lillie Kate Rogers ripped 14 kills on a career-high 55 swings with nine digs and a pair of block assists
- Sofia Beard notched 11 kills with a lone attack error, adding two stops (one solo) and three digs
- Sydney Wattles and Jordan Duzenack chimed in with eight kills apiece in addition to their three and two blocks, respectively
- Martina Foster amassed a season-high five blocks including two solos and tied her career high in aces with three
- Haley Moffett and Tamie Boudot had similar setting efficiencies while tacking on 22 and 18 assists, respectively, with both players adding eight digs
- Riley Hill chalked up 22 digs and chipped in a trio of assists as defensive specialist Ali Rose guarded the floor for 13 digs
