EMORY, Va. — The Catawba College women's volleyball team earned its first South Atlantic Conference win in sweeping fashion over the Emory & Henry Wasps at the King Center on Friday evening.
TEAM STATS
- Catawba (4-6, 1-4 SAC) registered its third-best hitting percentage of the year at .226 while holding the Wasps (3-12, 0-6 SAC) to a lowly .057
- The blue and white finished with a 5-3 advantage in service aces, but struggled with accuracy as Emory & Henry led .967-.878
- The Wasps were superior in the blocking category, making seven stops to Catawba's five; however, the hosts suffered from four block errors while Catawba had none
- E&H was out-dug 61-51 and committed five reception errors in comparison to three by the visitors
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Sofia Beard fronted the offensive attack with 13 kills while chipping in seven digs
- Lillie Kate Rogers also broke into double figures offensively, adding 10 kills on a .333 hitting percentage
- Batting an impeccable .800, Maddie Dayton found pay dirt on four of her five swings with two blocks (one solo, one assisted)
- Martina Foster elevated for a team-high four blocks, served two aces and landed four kills
- Haley Moffett enjoyed a double-double on 18 assists and 12 digs with a pair of service aces
- Tamie Boudot recorded her third straight match averaging at least seven assists per set, totaling 22 against the Wasps with seven digs
- Riley Hill tallied 23 digs, averaging a season-high 7.67 per stanza, and contributed three helpers
