Anderson, S.C. — Catawba College junior Bree Ehmer earned Division II Conference Commissioners' Association (CCA) Southeast Region Player of the Year honors, the first student-athlete in program history to earn the distinction.
Additionally, a region-best seven Catawba Indians were named CCA All-Region honorees with five named to the All-Region First Team.
Ehmer earns All-Region honors for the third time in as many seasons, while picking up All-Region First Team and Player of the Year recognition for the first time in her illustrious career. The Melbourne, Fla. native posted a nation-leading 20 goals in her junior campaign, the most by a Catawba Indian in 20 seasons.
Kylie Morin picked up First Team All-Region honors for the first time in her career, logging a SAC-leading 12 assists, good for fourth in the nation. The SAC Tournament MVP added seven goals, including the overtime winner in the SAC Tournament final versus Anderson.
Maria Rayburn was alongside Morin as a First Team All-Region midfielder. The SAC Defensive Player of the Year once again led Catawba to one of the top defenses in the conference, region and country with just 13 goals conceded on the season. To boot, Rayburn added a career-best four goals and two assists on the offensive end.
Lucy Hack was named First Team All-Region in her first season as a full-time starter with the Catawba Indians. The All-SAC First Teamer started in each of Catawba's 22 contests and was a mainstay in Catawba's back line that once again ranked top 25 in the country in goals-against average.
Jenni D?hne was picked as the All-Southeast Region First Team goalkeeper, playing a key role in Catawba's stout defense on the season. The Oyten, Germany native ranked seventh in the country in goalie minutes played, second in the SAC in save percentage and fourth in the country in shutouts with 12 clean sheets on the season.
Morgan Delair earned Second Team All-Region consideration after a breakout senior campaign in which she scored 10 goals on the season, more than double the six goals she had scored in her previous three seasons combined. The Concord, N.C. native also added eight assists as a key contributor to the Catawba Indians' offensive success this season.
Reese Robinson was Catawba's final All-Region selection, a Second Team All-Region defender. Alongside Hack, Robinson played a key role in Catawba's back line, but also made key offensive contributions including the game-winning goal at Wingate back in October. A senior from Huntersville, N.C., the honor is Robinson's first All-Region pick of her career.
The First Team All-Region honorees will advance to CCA All-America consideration, which releases later in December.
