Ehmer earns D2CCA National Player of the Year, First Team All-America

Birmingham, Ala. — Catawba College junior forward Bree Ehmer was honored as the 2025 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Women's Soccer Ron Lenz National Player of the Year, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

Ehmer is the first female student-athlete to earn a National Player of the Year honor in Catawba Athletics history, joining just Catawba Baseball's Craig Brooks and Will Albertson (2015) as Catawba student-athletes to earn the prestigious honor.

The Melbourne, Fla. native was also named a First Team All-American at forward, the sixth Catawba Indian in program history to earn First Team All-America and the third in the last five years, joining Katie Beck and Sydney Jimmo.

The D2CCA Southeast Region Player of the Year and South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year finished her season with 20 goals, including seven game-winners, and six assists for a total of 46 points. She ranked in the top three nationally in goals, points and game-winning goals.

Ehmer helped lead the Catawba Indians to an undefeated regular season, sweeping the SAC regular season and conference tournament titles en route to the first top seed in the NCAA Southeast Regional in program history.

The All-America honor is the first in Ehmer's career, becoming the 12th student-athlete in program history to earn All-American honors.

The three-time First Team All-SAC selection and three-time All-Region selection already ranks tied for fifth in program history with 42 career goals in 50 career games, currently on pace to set the career goals per game program record with 0.84 scores per contest.
