HICKORY, N.C. — Despite taking a spirited 28-26 first set, the Catawba College women's volleyball team quickly lost its footing and wound up on the losing end of a 3-1 final score at Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday night.
TEAM STATS
- The Catawba Indians (8-12, 5-10 SAC) registered their highest hitting percentage in a loss since 2014 with a .243 success rate compared to Lenoir-Rhyne's .261
- Coming in as one of the nation's best serve receive teams, LR did not disappoint with a 10-1 advantage in aces despite sending nine serves out against Catawba's five
- The programs were even in the digs department with 62 apiece
- The visitors were harmed by three block errors and a ball-handling error, while LR's lone miscue at the net was one block error
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Lauren Patrick leveraged a breakout night, piling up 13 kills on a .684 hitting percentage with no errors; she was also one of four players to block four attacks
- Martina Foster walloped 12 kills, hitting just shy of .500, with a season-high six blocks including a solo denial
- Tamie Boudot added up 25 assists while Haley Moffett dished out 22 helpers and landed Catawba's lone service ace
- Ali Rose led the defensive effort with 18 digs, two ahead of libero Riley Hill's 16 scoops
