SALISBURY, N.C. — The Catawba College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to its regional South Atlantic Conference rival Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday at Goodman Arena.
TEAM STATS
- The Catawba Indians (3-4, 0-2 SAC) recorded one of its best hitting percentages in a defeat with a .180 clip compared to Lenoir-Rhyne's (9-2, 3-0 SAC) mark of .347
- The hosts failed to commit a setting error, but the Bears held the overall edge in set percentage at .438-.330
- The Bears lived and died in service, delivering 11 aces with 10 errors while Catawba notched two aces with just three miscues
- LR clipped Catawba in the digs department (37-36) but held a decisive 7-2 advantage in blocking
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Lillie Kate Rogers led the Catawba Indians in kills, striking nine times with six digs
- Sofia Beard batted an efficient .375 with seven kills while also adding an ace and five digs
- Martina Foster was also very effective as the senior middle had seven kills on a .333 success rate
- Sára Puskás tallied both a solo and an assisted block, chipping in three kills and a quartet of digs
- Haley Moffett logged 27 assists with pairs of digs and kills
- Riley Hill aced a serve and registered a team-high 11 digs
- Ali Rose saw the first action of her career, serving five times and going errorless in three receptions
