HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- Catawba drew first blood behind a fully-charged offense that helped create an 8-5 advantage
- The Cobras slinked ahead by a point but the score remained tight with the gap never greater than two
- Down 23-21, a Beard kill and a Coker miscue wiped the Cobra lead and forced the hosts to call timeout
- Another error preceded a second vicious strike from Beard that gave the Catawba Indians set No. 1 in 25-23 style

Second Set
- The Catawba Indians churned out to an early lead with help from solo blocks by Puskás and Ratliff
- The duo paired up for a stop and Puskás added a kill to force a timeout while holding a touchdown lead at 14-7
- Using the break to recover, Coker implemented a 10-1 run to take over; however, Catawba eventually caught up with assistance from three Foster blasts to make it 22-all
- Trailing on set point at 24-22, Beard pounded two kills to keep the Catawba Indians alive
- Four set points — two for each side — later, Rose used a service ace to finally put the Cobras away, 29-27

Third Set
- The start of set three was all Cobras except for an errant serve as the Catawba Indians opted for a timeout at a 6-1 deficit
- Rogers killed the following two rallies but Coker picked up where it left off, growing the lead to 12-4 to provoke a second timeout
- A five-point skid helped Catawba come within four, though the Cobras restored their edge to eight at 18-10
- The hosts continued pressing on the gas, powering to a fourth stanza with a 25-16 set win

Fourth Set
- Beard and Sydney Wattles crushed kills in the midst of a neck-and-neck start to the frame
- After being tied at 11, Catawba tacked on kills and capitalized on Cobra mistakes to develop a 15-13 gap
- Coker slipped ahead and made it 22-18 when the visitors called timeout in a bid to halt the momentum; it worked as Catawba slashed the deficit to 23-21 which spurred a timeout by the hosts
- Addie Bittner and Rogers traded kills before McKay Kasper and Cayla Gilmore shared a set-ending block to push the match to a fifth set

Fifth Set
- A Puskás kill and a Cobra hitting error provided Catawba with the first two points, but Coker nabbed the ensuing three
- The guests countered with a run of their own including a pair of Rogers blasts that bumped the Catawba Indians to a 7-4 advantage
- Three aces during a sizable Coker wave of points helped tie proceedings at 11-11
- Elif Hazar Kayan had a hand in a block and used a kill to get the Cobras to match point, where a Catawba error sealed the set at 15-13 with the match finalized at 3-2
