#23 Women’s Soccer opens up 2025 with 3-0 win in Maryland

Boyds, Md. — The 23rd-ranked Catawba College women's soccer team earned a decisive win in the 2025 season opener at the Maryland SoccerPlex on Friday night, notching a 3-0 decision over 2024 NCAA Tournament participant Frostburg State.

TEAM STATISTICS
- Catawba out-shot Frostburg State 15-10
- The Catawba Indians put eight shots on goal to five for the Bobcats
- FSU led the corner-kick battle 10-7
- Catawba was called for 12 of 18 fouls on the night

INDIVIDUAL LEADERS

Kylie Morin recorded the game-winner with an assist and a team-high three shots on frame

Bree Ehmer also bagged a goal and an assist

Morgan Delair picked up an assist

Jenni Dähne pawed away five shots in goal for the first clean sheet of her career

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST HALF
- Frostburg State got the first shot on target, corralled by Dähne in the fourth minute
- Ehmer flipped ahead to Morin who buried the eventual winner in the ninth minute
- Morin and Delair combined to find Ehmer at the top of the box; the junior turned and fired a score in the lower-left corner in the 20th minute
- A try from Delair was saved and another from Morin hit the post as Catawba looked to grow the lead

SECOND HALF
Agnethe Vestergaard Heron tested the FSU keeper in the 48th minute, but the shot was stopped
Lauren Darbo centered a ball in the 55th minute that deflected off of a Bobcat defender and into the net, growing the Catawba lead to 3-0
- Dähne tacked on three more saves over the game's final 30 minutes, earning a clean sheet in her first career start
