Raleigh, N.C. — The Catawba College women's track and field teams split up to compete in the Davidson and Raleigh Relays over the weekend.
HOW IT HAPPENED
DAVIDSON RELAYS
100-Meter Dash
- Skylar Southern earned a top-10 finish in the Women's 100m dash with a mark of 12.30
200-Meter Dash
- Letsi Burgos and Lea Legros notched top-12 finishes in the Women's 200m dash with 10th- and 11th-place finishes, respectively
800-Meter Run
- Emer Mcglynn picked up a sixth-place finish in the 800, crossing the line in 2:20.38
One-Mile Run
- Justine Sanchez finished eighth in the mile with a mark of 5:14.35
Discus Throw
- Jamelia Nicholas set the school record in the women's discus throw with a mark of 39.39 meters
Long Jump
- Haleigh Washington was a top-five finisher in the women's long jump, placing fifth by clearing 5.54 meters
- Elizabeth Deen placed seventh by clearing 5.40 meters
Triple Jump
- Deen placed fourth in the women's triple jump, reaching 11.21 meters
RALEIGH RELAYS
800-Meter Run
- Eden Barnwell reached an NCAA mark and set the number two time in program history in the 800m run, setting a personal-best time at 2:10.67
- Mandi Pollard also set a personal-best time at 2:13.76
10,000-Meter Run
- Madi Clay earned a top-30 finish in the Women's 10K, setting an NCAA mark and a top-five time in Division II in the event with a mark of 34:28.62
