Emory, Va. — The Catawba College women's track and field team took home three South Atlantic Conference titles on Day One of the league's Outdoor Championships in Emory, Va.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Discus Throw

- Jamelia Nicholas took home the SAC title in the Women's Discus Throw with a heave of 39.91 meters

- Lilly Wolf added a podium finish with a toss of 39.16 meters, good for third place

Long Jump

- Efe Egberi won the league title in the Women's Long Jump, reaching 5.81 meters

1,500-Meter Prelims

- Natalie Almond turned in the fastest time in the women's 1500 prelims with a mark of 4:42.92

- Eden Barnwell, Mandi Pollard and Emer Mcglynn joined her in Thursday's finals with qualifying marks

400-Meter Dash Prelims

- Onii Bivens and Letsi Burgos booked final-qualifying times in the 400m dash prelims

100-Meter Dash Prelims

- Lea Legros was the final qualifier for the women's 100m dash finals with a mark of 11.98 seconds

800-Meter Run Prelims

- Eden Barnwell, Charity Davies and Pollard booked spots in the 80m finals, placing fourth, fifth and eighth, respectively in the prelims

3,000-Meter Steeplechase

- Justine Sanchez placed seventh in the women's 3K steeplechase

10,000-Meter Run

- Madi Clay took home the SAC title in the women's 10K run, clearing the rest of the field by over a minute with a mark of 35:07.76

- Hannah Caudill joined her on the podium with a third-place finish of 36:35.50
