CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Catawba College men's volleyball fell one slash shy of its digs and attacks records in a 3-1 loss to Queens University of Charlotte on Wednesday night at the Levine Center.
TEAM STATS
- The Catawba Indians (10-13) chalked up a .146 hitting percentage with 48 kills, rivaling the .273 mark by Queens (7-19) that included 55 kills
- The Royals tallied a 6-4 advantage in service aces with one fewer error (16-15)
- Queens maintained a slight edge in blocking, outnumbering the blue and white 7-5.5 with a 5-1 advantage in solo stops
- The squads combined for a whopping 117 digs with the Royals leading 63-54
INDIVIDUAL STATS
- Justin Arrowood set a new program record with 61 attempts on offense, translating to 18 kills while adding 11 digs – to secure a double-double – and two blocks
- Logan Neitzel threw down eight kills on a .400 clip with a pair of blocks, while his mate in the middle Wyatt Eastin went .455 with six kills to go with a team-high three denials
- John Clinton collected three aces and 12 digs, both season-best marks, in addition to six kills and a block
- Anders Christianson had a steady night in kills and digs, supplying seven of each
- Kristian Smith fed the offensive effort with 40 assists while also turning in seven digs, two blocks, one ace and one kill
- Max Adkisson posted the third-best digs mark in program history with 15; he needs just two more digs to hit 200 for the season
