Greenwood, Ind. —- Five Catawba College Tennis student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District team, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
On the men's side, sophomores
Alen Bill and
Santiago Passoni were named CSC Academic All-District selections, while seniors
Sofia Antolini,
Tina Gomes and
Ami Miya received the distinction on the women's side.
The organization recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. Each institution is honored with a maximum of eight honorees who meet cumulative GPA and participation requirements.
The group of five student-athletes helped both Catawba Tennis programs to advance to the final national championship site for the first time in program history.
Antolini and Miya advance to CSC Academic All-America consideration, which is released in early June.
