Greensboro, N.C. —- Catawba College Head Baseball Coach Jim Gantt was named the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Southeast Region Coach of the Year, the organization announced Tuesday morning.
 
Gantt earns the honor from the coaches association for the fifth time in his illustrious career; he's been named the Region Coach of the Year in each of the five seasons in which Catawba Baseball won the Southeast Region title and advanced to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championships.
 
In his 30th season at the helm of Catawba Baseball, Gantt led the Catawba Indians to a program-record 49 wins, which included the Catawba Indians' third straight SAC regular season title, their third straight NCAA Tournament earning hosting duties and their fifth region championship.
 
Gantt also won SAC Coach of the Year honors for the third straight year and for a league-record 14th time.
