Richmond, Va. — Twenty two Catawba College swimming student-athletes were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) Scholar All-America team as individuals, the organization announced on Thursday.
On the men's side, seniors Alejandro Alvarez and Matt Howard; juniors Ryan Case and Maks Minichowski; sophomores George Fykatas, Greg Kisshauer and Cameron Watson; and freshmen Sammer Abdallah, Lincoln Council and Jules Remy were named to the team.
On the women's side, seniors Sydney McKenzie, Danielle Meinema, Gabriella Moll and Mari Reckmann; juniors Fiona Byrne, Ella Gutenwik and Enikö Onofer; sophomore Sydney Peterson; and freshmen Clara Campo, Mahée Gory-Lauret, Eszter Pajor and Fernanda Regina Pera Dos Santos earned CSCAA Individual Scholar All-America Team honors.
To qualify for Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship or must have earned an NCAA "B" qualifying standard for the national championship.
