Richmond, Va. —- The Catawba College women's swimming team earned the highest team GPA in Division II for the eighth straight semester with a program-record 3.94 grade point average, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced Wednesday afternoon.
The achievement marks each semester as the national leaders in Division II swimming in the classroom for the outgoing senior class.
Both Catawba's men and women were named a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, honored to programs who reach a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Catawba's women earned the highest GPA among all divisions of collegiate swimming across both genders. Their excellence in the classroom this past season was joined by a program-record ninth-place team finish at the NCAA Division II Swimming National Championships.
Catawba's men recorded a 3.63 GPA, good for the sixth-best mark among DII men's swim programs.
