FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. — The ninth-ranked Catawba College men's golf team went toe-to-toe with multiple fellow nationally ranked programs at the Fripp Island to Bermuda Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, slotting fifth among nearly a dozen top-25 squads.
Catawba was the highest South Atlantic Conference finisher, leading Lincoln Memorial by 19 shots and Lenoir-Rhyne by 31. The blue and white also placed ahead of No. 2 West Florida, No. 8 St. Mary's (Texas) and No. 12 Rollins.
Boasting a 25-under-par 839, Lee captured the team crown by a whopping 18 strokes. The Flames swept the top two individual positions, highlighted by medalist Drew Zielinski who earned the ultimate prize of an exemption into the PGA Tour Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Barker signatured sub-72 rounds in the first and third rounds on a 71-75-69 scorecard to mark his second under-par tournament as a Catawba Indian
- Kapur continued consistent play with a 71-72-74 card, bringing the sophomore's season stroke average below 74
- Esnault fired even-par back nines in all three rounds, putting a bow on the event with a par round in the finale
- Despite an eight-over start through 36 holes, Antoniadis rallied to post a third-round 70 that featured eight birdies
- Carter had a very up-and-down tournament that peaked in the second round as the Asheboro, N.C., product collected five birds en route to a 69
