TOCCOA, Ga. — The Catawba College women's golf team competes in its final tournament of the fall semester this week with the Ralph Hayes D2 Elite Invitational played at Currahee Club.
The Team
- The Catawba Indians enter their third consecutive weekend with a tournament after participating in the LeeAnn Noble Memorial and, last week, the UNCG Collegiate
- Despite the program's bottom-of-the-pack finishes, its competition has been quite stiff as reflected by Catawba's No. 75 national ranking
- The UNCG Collegiate pitted Catawba against 10 Division I schools; the blue and white placed ninth, leading North Carolina Central and The Citadel
- Mary-Paige King led the way with an 11-over-par 227 as the Clemmons, N.C., product placed 21st in the 67-golfer field

- Catawba is one of 18 programs in attendance; 92 players will tee off at Currahee Club on Monday morning
- High-profile squads are found throughout the field, highlighted by No. 1 Wingate, No. 3 Anderson, No. 6 UT Tyler, No. 7 Lee, No. 10 UIndy and No. 12 Nova Southeastern
- In addition to Wingate and Anderson, Catawba will also be joined by fellow South Atlantic Conference teams Lenoir-Rhyne and Lincoln Memorial to give the league five representatives
