Greenwood, Ind. —- Catawba College junior Maks Minichowski earned Second Team Academic All-America honors, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Wednesday afternoon.

Minichowski, a sophomore from Łomianki Dolne, Poland, has earned a 3.86 cumulative GPA in Sustainability Planning and Leadership through three semesters. 

The four-time All-American was one of just three men at the NCAA Division II Championships to earn a spot in four championship heats, earning the fifth-most points of any individual at the final championship site.

Minichowski is the first men's swimmer to earn outright Academic All-America honors and the first since Christoffer Stolt and Mikael Karlsson earned Honorable Mention honors in 2011.
