Washington, D.C. —- The Catawba College baseball team was awarded two All-American selections from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and five of its student-athletes were named to the All-Southeast Region team, the organization announced this week.

Senior Cole Hales was named a Third Team All-American and an All-Region First Team selection, earning his first All-America honor of his career and making him a unanimous First Team All-Region pick among the three awarding organizations. Hales had a team-best .407 batting average and 55 runs driven in while playing all-conference level defense at third base.

Sophomore Hayden Simmerson earned First Team All-America and All-Region accolades as well, as just one reliever is named to each First Team, marking him the unofficial Division II Reliever of the Year. Simmerson is now a Consensus First Team All-American and a unanimous First Team All-Region pick. Simmerson led the country in appearances and saves, turning in a historic campaign as Catawba's lockdown closer with 17 saves.

Junior Nathan Chrismon picked up Second Team All-Region accolades from the coaches' association. The lone newcomer to be named an All-Region selection for the Catawba Indians, Chrismon hit .318 across appearances in all 60 games, including a blistering .401 batting average across the final two months of the season. 

Senior Dylan Driver was a Second Team All-Region pick from the ABCA, earning consensus all-region recognition after also earning Second Team honors from the NCBWA. Driver recorded a team-high 82 hits and 11 home runs, while hitting 20 doubles for the second straight season to reach fifth on the all-time program doubles list.

Finally, graduate student Payne Stolsworth was named a Second Team All-Region selection, making him a unanimous All-Region selection. Stolsworth earned a career-high 12 victories on the mound with a whopping 107.2 innings pitched for the SAC regular season and tournament champions.
