Louisville, Ky. —- Catawba College senior Kary Hales and junior Brianna Gallagher earned spots on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Southeast Region First Team, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.
The pair are the first Catawba Indian teammates to both earn All-Region honors since Carly Tysinger and Natalie Naturile in 2015. Gallagher and Hales are the first pair of First Team All-Region selections in program history.
Gallagher was the first player in Catawba Softball program history to earn South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year honors after winning the SAC batting title with a .480 average while mashing a single-season program record 16 home runs, good for second in the league.

At the end of the regular season, she ranked third in the country and tops in the SAC with 20 doubles this season, setting the new program single-season and career record for doubles with a .452 batting average and a team-best 49 runs driven in.
