New Orleans, La. —- Both Catawba College men's and women's track and field teams were named All-Academic Teams by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced.

Additionally, eight student-athletes were named All-Academic Athletes by the organization – Eden Barnwell, Onii Bivens, Madi Clay, Efe Egberi, Mallory Witherspoon, Skylar Southern, Oussama Ajala and Javier Gomez-Wilson.

Nominated student-athletes were eligible for the recognition with at least a 3.0 grade point average. 

Catawba's women earned a 3.64 GPA as a team during the spring semester, good for top 20 in the country, while the men achieved a 3.26 GPA mark as a team.
