Wingate, N.C. —- The Catawba College men's cross country earned a second-place finish at Wingate's Bulldog Stampede on Saturday morning at the site that will serve as the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional meet host later this fall.
Senior Will Lyons was the top Catawba Indian finisher, placing second as an individual with a mark of 21:46.12, less than three seconds behind the Anderon runner who finished first. James Shue and Ian Pierce were the other Catawba runners to place in the top ten, placing sixth and tenth, respectively.
Catawba finished second overall as a team, as Anderson just nudged ahead of the Catawba Indians in the final stretch. The Catawba Indians paced ahead of top-ranked Wingate, who finished third.
