Durham, N.C. — The Catawba College men's and women's track and field teams set seven school records and four NCAA marks across the Duke and Southside Power & Fitness Invites this past weekend.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Duke Invite
Women's 1,500-Meter Run
- Eden Barnwell set the school record in the Women's 1500m with a time of 4:31.55
- Madi Clay also broke a school record in the Women's 5K with a mark of 16:22.21, good for the fifth-fastest time in Division II
Southside Power & Fitness Invite
Men's 1,500-Meter Run
- Freshman Seth Roy crossed the line first in the men's 1500m run with a mark of 4:01.57
Men's 3,000-Meter Steeplechase
- Don Leimkuhler took home the individual event win at the 3K steeplechase with a mark of 9:53.59
Men's Triple Jump
- Jayden Bennermon placed as the runner-up and the top collegiate finisher in the Men's Triple Jump, reaching 15.40 meters, good for a top-10 mark in Division II and a school record
Men's High Jump
- Namaurion Koontz set a top-20 mark in Division II in the men's high jump, clearing a school-record 2.06 meters to share the individual title at the event
Women's 4x400-Meter Relay
- Catawba's 4x400 meter relay team of Onii Bivens, Efe Egberi, Letsi Burgos and Skylar Southern finished first and set a top-10 NCAA mark with a school-record time of 3:46.58
Women's Heptathlon
- Lily Wolf competed in the women's heptathlon, placing fourth
Men's Hammer Throw
- Jacob Scannell increased his men's hammer throw school record with a heave of 39.50 meters
